KADEEM “KJOHN” JOHNSON (B. 1989) IS A PHOTOGRAPHER AND VISUAL STORYTELLER BASED IN LOS ANGELES WHOSE WORK EXPLORES COMMUNITY, IDENTITY, AND HUMAN CONNECTION THROUGH DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY AND PORTRAITURE.

Working across the United States and beyond, Johnson creates images that examine the relationships between people, place, and culture. His photographs are rooted in observation and intimacy, documenting both everyday moments and larger cultural narratives with an emphasis on authenticity and emotional presence.

In 2025, Johnson presented COM LIMÁO, his first solo exhibition, featuring photographs made throughout São Paulo, Salvador, and Rio de Janeiro. The exhibition offered a nuanced portrait of contemporary Brazilian life through the artist’s documentary lens.

Beyond his independent practice, Johnson has spent more than a decade working within the fashion industry, helping shape the careers of internationally recognized models while continuing to develop a photographic body of work that bridges documentary storytelling, portraiture, and cultural preservation.
